New constitution of the Brazilian Chapter

Dear members of the Policy Council,
After some years of lack of organization and activities, the Brazilian Chapter has reorganized, put together a new interim Policy Council and worked out a new chapter constitution. The Chapter President *Niraldo José do Nascimento*, supported by *Ricardo Matos Chaim* as Chapter Liaison to the Society and *Isaías Custódio* as Chapter Secretary would lead the chapter until the next Annual Meeting at the International Conference in Washington, DC, in July 2011, and they ask us to legitimize their work by approving the new constitution.
The proposed new constitution complies with the Society’s rules. 33 full members have declared their adherence to the chapter and the identity of 22 of them is verifiable in the chapter’s discussion board at http://www.systemdynamics.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=196.
Even though in order to create a chapter, usually signed letters are required, I suggest to accept the discussion board identification.
I believe that approving the new constitution is a way to help one chapter, and at the same time improves the overall situation of the chapters by giving a signal that the PC actively supports chapters that work hard to improve.
Therefore I submitted the motion to approve the Brazilian Chapter’s new constitution.
The supporting material of the report in submission #1001 contains the Brazilian chapter's cover letter, member list and proposed new constitution.
