Dear Policy Council Members and Other Interested Parties:
For this year's Summer Policy Council Meeting we will use the following format:
(1) Full Officer and Committee reports should be posted to the 2011 Summer Policy Council Meeting section on your User Menu Page of the Web Submission System at http://www.systemdynamics.org/cgi-bin/sdsweb;
(2) PC Members are asked to review all the reports and ask clarification questions in advance of the PC Meeting using the PC-Listserv at Policy Council Listserv ; and
(3) The face-to-face meeting will take place on Sunday July 24th at the conference in Washington, DC. At the face-to-face meeting, Officer and Committee reports will not be presented again, but discussion will be allowed. If the report raises issues that require further discussion and possible motions, those topics will be placed later on the agenda.
Full reports are due to be posted by July 15th. Also, if you are aware of any issues that should be placed on the agenda for further discussion and possible voting, please let me know as soon as possible. The agenda is posted on the Policy Council Menu.
Best regards,
David

Dear fellow PC members,
I just uploaded version 4 of the VP Chapters report - I've now received the German Chapter report, so the 3 reports that did not arrive until July 15are in now. I do not believe other Chapters will send in reports now, so I think that's it.
Briefly stated, there is a number of well-working chapters with a stable membership, stable activities and good web presence (Students, Italy, Switzerland, UK, Germany, Benelux). Another group of chapters seems to be progressing, even though they have less members or they are newer (Brazil, Latinamerica, maybe India). At the opposite end of the range there are Egypt, Greece and probably Russia. I propose to talk with the "prodigal" chapters, some of which will be at the conference, and to proceed to close down the remaining ones (and delete them from the Society's website). The details are in the report; Chapter reports are in the supplementary material.
Looking forward to see you in a couple of days,
Martin Schaffernicht VP Chapters

Hi Martin....hard to do, since not at the conference, unfortunately. But I remain interested in this process (as a long time reviewer and former PC member) and will look forward to the results of the meeting.
