Abstract for: Structural Model Changes Associated with Reddit’s Change My View

The evolution of System Dynamics models, mapping individuals’ changes in thought over a wide range of issues, is still sparsely researched. We take advantage of Reddit's ChangeMyView and LLM's to create models before and after a change in the original poster's mind. Structural changes system dynamics models may inform to what degree and possibly what ways an individual's mind may change. We use an LLM to create System Dynamics models of Original Posters claims before and after being convinced to change their minds. A structural comparison methodology allows for quantitative structural analysis of many posts of varying individual changes in opinions. Preliminary results based on 20 posts support the premise that the structural changes in the system dynamics models - specifically that of auxiliaries and stocks suggest greater reversals in point of view. The significance of auxiliaries in SD models should not be unsurprising as they are needed to represent the relationship between a cause and effect . With further refinement in classification on the Original Poster’s changes in view, these model changes can inform to what degree and possibly ways the original poster’s mind can change System Dynamics model creation from Text, Viewpoint change interpretation, and classification of text and model elements
