Abstract for: Overcoming non-systemic applications of systems thinking and the need for systems for systems change
Growing applications of systems thinking for producing systems change are running the risk of becoming non-systemic. This is because it is being applied in isolation by organizations. Coalitions are not using systems thinking to convene themselves and reflect on the outcomes their interactions are producing collectively. Leadership is often not part of the learning process, and this creates a gap for effective navigation of systems thinking capabilities. To overcome some of these challenges, we propose three systems for systems change: 1) Systems Leadership, 2) Systems Acting, 3) Systems Being.
