Abstract for: Bringing System Dynamics to Life: AI-Powered Virtual Experiences (VEx) for Learning & Policy

How can we make system dynamics models more engaging and actionable for policymakers, educators, and researchers? This workshop introduces a structured approach to designing AI-powered Virtual Experiences (VEx) that enhance stakeholder engagement by transforming models into interactive, immersive, and decision-driven simulations. Participants will explore storytelling, gamification, and AI-generated scenario design to create intuitive, visually engaging interfaces that make complex systems accessible. Using wireframing and prototyping tools like Miro or PowerPoint, attendees will build dynamic decision-making experiences that communicate feedback loops and trade-offs in real time. Through hands-on prototyping and AI-driven prompts, participants will design interactive experiences that enhance decision-making, reveal biases, and drive behavioral change. By the end of the session, attendees will have a practical toolkit for turning system dynamics models into stakeholder-focused simulations that improve communication and real-world impact.
