Abstract for: End-of-life battery supply chains with remanufacturing: A system dynamics model
Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) are crucial for the clean energy transition, with sales expected to rise. However, end-of-life Li-ion batteries pose challenges due to flammability and environmental costs of lithium mining. Scholars advocate for recycling and reuse to meet BEV demand sustainably. The proposed study examines circular battery supply chains, considering remanufacturing processes and stakeholder motivations. It models the system as a Demand & Supply problem, where demand for end-of-life batteries is driven by factors like price and quality, while supply is influenced by remanufacturing capacity and costs.
