Abstract for: Troubleshooting multi-disciplinary collaboration in system dynamics models focused on climate change and health

In this workshop, we will troubleshoot the complexities of system dynamics modeling of climate related health impacts. The conversation will begin with an example from an ongoing system dynamics study focused on extreme heat, increased death and morbidity, and the balancing interventions and policies. This workshop will emphasize the challenges and benefits of including multi-disciplinary expertise and data sharing. Workshop attendees will discuss best-practices in three primary areas: 1) multi-disciplinary collaboration, 2) Data sharing practices and integration, 3) Participatory practices focused on impacted communities Call for participants: This workshop seeks to include participants across all disciplines. We encourage participants with a wide range of experience, including those with less familiarity on including health impacts in their models. While we will focus on extreme heat as an example, the conversation and participation welcome discussion of the wider range of climate related health impacts, embracing an all-hazards approach with complex multi-disciplinary approaches.
