Abstract for: What to Focus on in Group Model Building Workshops: How stakeholders system boundary perceptions change
Despite the importance of converging a single structure in modelling, stakeholders may concentrate on different parts of the system with diverse perceptions of system boundaries. As stakeholders participate in this iterative process, their perceptions can also evolve, leading to dynamic shifts in system boundaries. This paper focuses on exploring the relevance of having different system boundary perceptions, specifically on how stakeholders' divergent focus on system boundary change and shape SD simulation modeling. We conducted a case study to explore how local developments contribute to water neutrality and sustainable urban growth in a borough in North London, UK. We outline the plans to analyze how stakeholders’ system boundary perceptions evolve and how the changes of boundary perceptions impact simulation modelling.
