Abstract for: Simulating the Dutch cocaine trade
Cocaine trade is a major illicit drug trade in the Netherlands (NL). The infrastructure of the Netherlands is exceptionally suitable for international trading and the historically lenient societal attitude towards drug use lowers the risk for potential drug criminals. However, with the growing drugs market came increasing problems with serious organized crime. Violence, corruption, money laundering and other forms of subversion have become acute safety problems In this project we aim to analyze, model and simulate the cocaine market in NL, in order to find effective policy levers to fight this form of serious crime.
