Abstract for: Unfolding the Loops: Enhancing Implementability of Sustainable Train Transition through integration of GMB and Process Mapping

Transportation is pivotal in modern society, but is also responsible for considerable environmental and social degradations. System Dynamics has been widely applied as an approach to deal with the inherent complexity within the transport system. While Group Model Building has several positive effects in supporting complex decision making, it rarely ledads to measurable organizational results. This research aims to tackle this problem by the inclusion of a Process Mapping step to GMB. GMB will be used to create a causal loop diagram, form this diagram flowcharts will be created from leverage points in the system. The research will take place in the context of the sustainable transition of the Gelderland train system.
