Abstract for: Multi-actor modelling of the diffusion of electric heavy trucks

To meet climate goals, there is an urgent need to decarbonize road freight transport, and eletrification will play a key role in that process. This complex system transition is a function of several stakeholders and decision makers with different driving forces and preferences whose individual decisions together sum up the system development over time. In this study the objective is to develop a mathematical model to support exploration of how decisions of different actors, in the context of electrification of heavy road freight transport, propagate through the system. The model will be used to investigate how policies and collaboration between actors can be designed and implemented to effectively speed up electric truck adoption. In the study, the Swedish forestry industry is used as a case.
