Abstract for: Dynamics of Mood Management and Self-Actualization
Mood in cognitive psychology is considered a group of persisting feelings which influence future thoughts, behaviors and actions (Amando-Boccara & Donnet, 1993). Emotional states are key drivers for goal achievement leading to self-actualization, the epitome of self-fulfillment and expression of full potential as laid out in Maslow’s hierarchical motivation theory (1943). The following model explores the dynamic relationship between mood and self-actualization. It follows the renewable stock constrained by a renewable stock archetype in Donella Meadows’ Thinking in Systems primer (2008). Next steps look toward scenario testing and validation using assumptions backed by cognitive science literature.
