Abstract for: A Systems Approach to Climate Change, Water and Wellbeing

Climate change is going to bring increased flooding and droughts for many regions in New Zealand. Using the Hawkes Bay Region as a case study, this project developed a systems mapping platform for local councils and communities to integrate new and existing knowledge and make tangible the connections between environmental systems, human systems and wellbeing. The platform demonstrates the appropriateness of causal loop diagrams and other graphical approaches as an organizing framework to bring together information/data/models from different domains and of different forms.
