Abstract for: Charting the interconnections between Climate Change and Humanitarian Operations

The impacts of climate change on urban livelihoods and natural biodiversity systems have long been observed worldwide. These impacts have intensified over the years, increasing the frequency of adverse events. This paper proposes a preliminary analysis of the interconnections between climate change and humanitarian operations. Based on a systematic literature review, we analyzed 409 documents on the topic to understand the main relationships and literature insights, translating them into a causal loop diagram. The upcoming phases of the research are finalizing the interconnections mapping, and the policies involved, aiming to provide decision-makers with valuable insights into strategies focused on the climate change and humanitarian operations relationship.
