Abstract for: Navigating Complexity through Transdisciplinary Research: Advancing Stakeholder Engagement in Participatory System Dynamics

In recent years, transdisciplinary research has emerged more profoundly to address complex challenges through stakeholder engagement and participatory approaches. This work-in-progress paper explores the complexities in transdisciplinary research through a series of participatory System Dynamics (SD) activities. In the end, it aims to develop an integrated communication and network analysis framework by analysing stakeholder engagement and employing a 'strength of ties theory'. Using Social Network Analysis (SNA), it will examine changes in engagement networks over time and stakeholders' roles. Real case studies already provide preliminary insights for different ties in SD transdisciplinary activities and will guide future research towards success and resilience.
