Abstract for: Food Acquisition and Distribution Chain of the Acolhida Operation

Annually, millions of people are impacted by disasters. A type of disaster that has been gaining attention from researchers worldwide is the migratory movement crisis. The present research aims to develop a simulation model for acquiring, producing, and distributing meals to immigrants sheltered in a migration-related humanitarian operation. The model development is intended to identify the main bottlenecks and points susceptible to the effects of variation in the demand of the humanitarian operation supply chain. For this, a case study on the Acolhida operation is being carried out: a humanitarian operation of the Brazilian Federal Government for the reception, shelter, and internalization of Venezuelan immigrants in Brazil.
