Abstract for: Challenges in energy policy legitimacy for wind power industry

Since 2000 in Brazil, the wind power industry (WPI) has increasingly contributed to the power grid, primarily driven by the auction-based power expansion plan. Nevertheless, the Federal Government has sent mixed signals to the market which affects the dissemination of the WPI. In 2016, the Brazilian government sent with the withdrawal of auctions is that the stated policy is not valid anymore, and then investors could have a negative message about decreasing wind power support. These actions have sparked concerns regarding the future trajectory of the Wind Power Industry (WPI). One question emerges from this context: what is the effect of changes on legitimacy produced by diminishing or cancelling the renewable energy auctions for the dissemination of the wind power?
