Abstract for: Indigenous Contributions to Systems Science

New Zealand Māori have used a form of systems science for more than 1400 years. Known as whakaapa, Māori have maintained a systems approach to understanding the hierarchical importance of macro level environmental systems that culminate in opportunities for improving Māori health, education and environmental sustainability. This presentation will show evidence of Māori systems thinking in applied situations within their communities.
