Abstract for: Arctic Foresight Simulator

One of the greatest risks of our time is the development of the Arctic. Five countries dispute its natural resources (oil and gas) and its maritime routes, which have a great impact on the ecosystem, which presents an accelerated rate of ice melting, which raises sea levels in other regions of the world; changes the migration patterns of fauna, which affects the indigenous people of the region; and political conflicts for control of the area. Through the development of a Simulator, we can present a holistic framework that will allow us to find policies that lead to the sustainable development of the Arctic. Ultimately, we will be able to test our assumptions in this complex system and perhaps even correct the course of history. Are you ready to challenge your paradigms?
