Abstract for: Measuring the change in behavior of a system with a single metric
Loops that Matter provides a practical and comprehensive way to understand which feedback loops are driving model behavior at different points in time. It does not, however, tell is which points in time we should focus on. In this paper we present an approach to measuring system changed based on flow values and show how it can be visually combined with loop scores to show what loops are most dominant when things are changing the most. The resulting information display provides a very quick way to focus in on the loops most active when the things are changing the most, and better understand system transitions and their management.
