Abstract for: System Dynamics to Develop Sustainable Investment Approaches for Black-led Maternal Health Community-based Organizations

Local and national efforts to address black maternal morbidity and mortality recognize the importance of Black-led maternal health community based organizations in successfully addressing this issue. Yet approaches to investing in these organizations often falls short due to not recognizing dynamic feedback in organizational development processes and structural racism that constrains operations of these organizations. We describe an ongoing process to engage maternal health stakeholders in Philadelphia, PA to uncover dynamic processes driving success and failure of Black-led maternal health community based organizations in order to develop a successful sustainable investment plan for the city.
