Abstract for: Interface Design with Stella

This hands-on workshop will take participants through the process of conceptualizing an interface and then constructing it using the prebuilt design pages available in Stella version 3. After building the interface participants will deploy it to the web so that it is accessible by anyone with a web browser. There are no prerequisites for this workshop, and even those without any experience working with Stella will be comfortable putting together an interface on top of a model that will be supplied at the beginning of the workshop. During the workshop participants will develop an interface for an existing model including a storytelling sequence that demonstrates how unfolding model structure leads to changes in behavior. Participants should bring their own computers, either Macintosh or Windows, and we will install the software for use during the workshop.
