Abstract for: Modeling the Change of Rural Housing Morphology

In the direction of the differentiation of human needs and tastes, the changes that occur with the effect of various parameters in many areas, also affect the traditional houses in the rural, causing structural and functional differentiations. Morphological and physical interventions applied to the house, such as renovation, addition and removal, also influence the economic and original value of the house. In the study, traditional houses in the rural areas of Düzce/Turkey are examined with the stock-flow diagram in order to make visible the effects of the change that occurred over time and to determine the relationships between various parameters in the existing system. As a result of the study, the phenomenon of change, which is deemed necessary by the inhabitants for the continuity of life in the rural housing is evaluated and the conservation status of the houses, which is considered in the context of value, is interpreted.
