Abstract for: The time step and the integration method - Understanding the theoretical framework to make the right choice

Even though they are at the core of the System Dynamics theoretical framework, the time step, and the integration types (Euler or RK4) are very often overlooked by modelers, choosing them without thinking of the implications of the selection, or not even thinking about them at all, relying on the default values that the Software they use provide for them. On this workshop you will be solving simple exercises that will give you a much better understanding on how to avoid important time-step pitfalls and how to make better choices for any of your future models to balance performance vs accuracy.
