Abstract for: Simulations based on the Rasch model – a rigorous approach to modeling latent traits and human behavior?

The objective of the work presented in this abstract is to explore an approach to modeling social concepts in SD work by applying methods from metrology. Specifically we explore how Construct Mapping and Rasch measurement theory can be applied to quantifying and measuring social constructs such as abilities, perceptions and other latent traits in social systems. Lastly we discuss how the Rasch model suggested can be used to make causal inferences about human behaviors driven by social concepts.
