Abstract for: The Tensor Approach to Enterprise Asset Management with a Root Cause Analysis Model

Sometimes "regular" system dynamics is a bad fit for real world operational problems. Such was the case for a problem of understanding the effects of maintenance interventions on the operational readiness of a fleet of vehicles. The solution required the design of a Root Cause Analysis Model which combined system dynamics with a high-dimensional tensor of the data and the use of a sophisticated Spark pipeline. This novel way of looking at the data has already generated insights, such as a way to tie operations and management metrics together, while estimating the hidden variables connecting them.
