Abstract for: Analysis of the boundaries and a possible extension of Jay Forrester’s ‘Urban Dynamics’

In 1969, Jay W. Forrester published a book about the dynamics of urban growth, aging and revival. Surprisingly, there has been little interest within the SD community to test and build on the Urban Dynamics modeling work. This paper evaluates the Urban Dynamics work based on cities in the US and the developing world. The results challenge the boundaries of Forrester's model structure and assumptions.
