Abstract for: A Python-Based Method to Build and Simulate System Dynamics Models
System dynamics models have been handcrafted since the founding of the field. Software packages used for building models are designed easy to use for modellers. However, in the era of big data, system dynamics models are expected to be capable of inferring massive and heterogeneous data set. They often need to be combined with techniques from data science and machine learning. A new method to build and simulate system dynamics models that is free and open-source and that supports interaction with artificial intelligence techniques is needed. In this paper, we introduce a Python-based software package for building and simulating system dynamics models. We demonstrate its capability in an experiment and compare the result with a popular modelling platform.
