Abstract for: The Energy Transition: Impact on the Ocean
According to DNV GL`s latest Energy Transition Outlook, energy related issues that impact our oceans will change and put pressure on our oceans. Though oceans around the globe are already considered threatened they still provide many services to humanity. The question then arising is What is the extent of the influences from energy production and energy use on the ocean system and how is this going to impact ocean health and economic possibilities in the long-term? In order to answer this question, we will use ocean related inputs from energy production and energy use derived from DNV GL`s Energy Transition Outlook Model (ETOM) for an ongoing model development dealing with the future development (until 2050) of global ocean systems.
