Abstract for:Validate theories and verify models: A practitioner’s view on the need for requirements in SD

This presentation proposes the explicit use requirements in SD to eliminate a pervasive question modeler’s are asked and often answer poorly: is your model valid? Shifting the focus instead to whether the underlying logic for the model is based on sound. The paper outlines how other disciplines use requirements, concepts on how this might be applied in SD modeling, outlining of potential benefits of doing so, and next steps in our research.
