Abstract for:Thresholds for Learning System Dynamics

System dynamics is a contemporary system analysis paradigm that extends thinking capacities and enables wider understanding of the phenomena under inquiry. For the beginners, use of system dynamics is quite difficult to comprehend and apply in practice due to its specific modeling principles. Difficulty in learning system dynamics have resulted in a low rate of absorption of the methodology by a wider public. This study proposes a innovative teaching approach to support learning of system dynamics through the concept of Learning Thresholds. The question is how inclusion of learning thresholds might improve teaching of system dynamics? The study presents initial attempts to develop this learning approach, with final aim of the research to measure results from a course program for teaching system dynamics by using Learning Thresholds concept. Main conclusion of this study is that there is realistic justification to use the Learning Thresholds concepts as teaching approach to support learning of system dynamics.
