Abstract for:An innovative procurement approach to achieve sustainable coastline care

The Dutch Minsitry of Infrastructure reviews proposed innovations regarding the maintenance and upkeep of the coastal line. A big challenge is to make coastal care significantly more sustainable (e.g. CO2 reduction by 80% in comparison with the currrent way of maintenance and upkeep). Also a lot of stakeholders are involved (i.e. governmental authorities, regional and local authorities, the public (tourism), leisure time businesses, flora and fauna associatons, etc.).

Copernicos Group, change agents in asset management, develops and implements the reviewing-model in a continuous learning process, in close cooperation with the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and market-parties, to enable decisionmaking about the development of most promising innovations.

The newest version of the model is publicly avaiable and will be presented. But more important, the presentation give insights in the role of the model in the procurement-process, that is in itself changed (supported by the model) to met sustainability goals.
