Abstract for:Barriers to Adoption of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
This project is combining data collection, data analytics, system dynamics, cognitive modeling, agent-based modeling, and network modeling to study the adoption process for methodological paradigms within an organization. The test case paradigm is Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), which provides a mechanism for formalizing and capturing requirements, design, analysis, and other activities for large-scale engineering projects. This presentation describes the current state of this ongoing project, including how expert opinion is being integrated, how data analysis is being used to test and develop the conceptual model, and how two models (a cognitive-system dynamics-agent based hybrid model and a network model) and being integrated to study and identify barriers to the adoption process.
