This study aims to understand the systems behavior of urban walking by analyzing a dynamic structure in Seoul, Korea. We have found that the structure of model related to urban walking has tradeoff characteristics and integrates several components of the urban system. It includes the street environment, urban green spaces, and public transportation environment. The result of the model shows a similar behavior of the reference mode which is the historical prevalence of walking from the empirical data, and the prevalence of walking tends to decrease gradually until 2030. For future work, we will explore policy levers related to promoting urban walking, and conduct scenario analysis.
