Abstract for:EXPLANATORY THEORY FOR THE DYNAMICS OF TRANSPARENCY IN OGD (OPEN GOVERNMENT DATA) ECOSYSTEMS

Open Government Data (OGD) ecosystems are socio-technical systems that present a high complexity that is determined by how variables associated with factors of different nature (political, economic, social, cultural and technological), which present non-linear relationships and feedback cycles, are connected and interact. The specific problem that research is addressing is that there is a limited understanding of what we have called "dynamics of transparency in OGD ecosystems", which is determined precisely by the interactions that these variables present, which ends up affecting or enabling the transparency.  We are currently working with Systems Dynamics in the construction of a simulation model for OGD ecosystems that provides insight into the structure of the ecosystem that determines their behavior and to what extent the government benefit transparency is achieved
