Abstract for:The Science of Laws
The traditional method of lawmaking, which is currently used by governments, has many defects and omissions and is inadequate as a means for creating a consistently efficacious and beneficial rule of law. To improve the rule of law, a new branch of systems science, the science of laws, has been created. This presentation discusses the progress, to date, of the investigative division of the science of laws, which accumulates knowledge of the mechanics of laws, and of the creative division, which applies engineering methodologies to the design of laws. The presentation also discusses the development of standards for the design and quality assurance of laws, annual scientific conferences, the journal of the science of laws, and a prediction of the impact of systems science on the rule of law.
