Abstract for:Estimation of the demand of cars, utility vehicles and pick up in Megacities through system dynamics and agent-based simulation
This project contemplated a hybrid simulation model, applying systems dynamics and agent-based simulation to estimate demand for cars, utility vehicles and pick-up, in Bogotá D.C.
To consider consumer behavior, research team analyzed preferences of population related to certain attributes of the vehicles, associating them with conditions of consumers and their environment. The proposed analytical model allows to estimate vehicles demand under different scenarios, and response of a consumer’s population with certain sociodemographic characteristics in an established macroeconomic context. This research is a contribution to the understanding of the dynamics of the Colombian automotive market, and the strategic decision-making processes regarding product specification and sales.
