Abstract for:Collaborative Governance: A Research Agenda

This paper sets out a structure for considering collaborative governance for public policy and management problem-solving through systemic principles, conceptual and system dynamics simulation modeling. Such a collection of tools, techniques and frameworks is needed to establish the value of these approaches, and to accelerate their dissemination through the field. We are developing a classification of the extant literature and practice that establish gaps and areas of possible linkages between SD, other systems approaches, and the public administration literature. The analysis extends beyond a traditional literature review by considering the effectiveness of dissemination outside the academic sphere (viz., World Climate), replicability (through scripts and adaptation), intensity of effort, among other dimensions.
