Abstract for: Exploring Asset Management Principles in an Aging Infrastructure Case

One of the promising fields of application of System Dynamics is ASSET MANAGEMENT (AM), the management of physical capital goods that provide major functions to our society. AM has its own basic principles (like life cycle thinking, multi-actor approach, condition of resources, the dynamics of usage and environment etc.) which are more or less supported by System Dynamics. Workshop outline: _ Exploration of Asset Management Principles _ Elaboration of AM Principles in Aging Infrastructure Case in workgroups with own SD tools _ Reflection on the usefulness of System Dynamics for Asset Management applications and need for further development of SD The workshop will be facilitated by managing partners of Copernicos Group, change agents in asset management.
