Abstract for: Italian Chapter Annual Meeting and Roundtable

SYDIC (SYstem Dynamics Italian Chapter) started a new path over the last few years, also relying on innovative tools now available to members. A new website, newsletters, forum, webinars, all have contributed to spread knowledge over the net about SD, achieving the goal of raising new members, and widening the range of activities being carried out. The Chapter activities during the year will be discussed and future steps to manage the Chapter will be planned. In reference to the period August 2016 - July 2017 the SYDIC Policy Council will present the main activities of SYDIC members both in the Academic (Universities & Research centers) and in the Consulting (Private & Public Administration) areas, as well as will discuss the events/workshops and, in general, the Chapter activities planned for the coming year. Among the activities that will be presented, the organization of the SYDIC Summer School that will be held in September 2017 at the Lake of Como School, and the translation in Italian of the well-known book “Thinking in Systems” authored by D.H. Meadows. The annual report of the Chapter members is presented by an e-poster which will point out, through a visual geographic distribution on the Italian territory, the main activities of the members active both in the academic area and in professional sectors.
