Abstract for: German Chapter Informal Gathering

The German Chapter invites all interested parties to an informal gathering at the International SD Conference in Cambridge. The chapter advances networking and collaboration among System Dynamicists in Germany and beyond. On behalf of Birgit Kopainsky of the Swiss SD Chapter, we cordially invite attendees of Switzerland, too. We also welcome attendees from Austria. The German Chapter currently has 9 institutional members and 123 personal members and keeps more than 300 interested researchers, managers, and students updated through its e-mail newsletter. Since fall 2014, the German chapter offers an online-colloquium for PhD students. These events provide a basis for meeting fellow System Dynamicists and for discussing modeling projects. The German Chapter’s Annual Meeting (11th meeting in September 2017 in Dessau-Roßlau) brings together modelers from the scientific and business world, and by combining talks, presentations, and modeling exercises, it offers a formidable and appreciated platform for establishing links within the community as well as for actively advancing SD skills. In addition, the Gert-von-Kortzfleisch-Prize for extraordinary work in SD conducted in Germany or in German will be awarded.
