Abstract for: South Africa Chapter Annual Meeting and Roundtable
The South Africa System Dynamics Chapter is the first in sub-Saharan Africa, which was approved and recognised by the System Dynamics Society in February 2014. The goal of the Chapter is to promote the understanding and awareness of system dynamics as a problem-solving approach to many of the Africa-based problems. Applied system dynamics work is presented every year at the Annual System Dynamics Conference, hosted collaboratively with Eskom SOC and various other institutions. The 5th Annual System Dynamics Conference was held Stellenbosch University on the 17th and 18th of November 2016. The University of Pretoria will host the 6th Annual South African System Dynamics Conference on the 27th and 28th of November 2017 The participants of the roundtable are Chapter members, as well as academics and practitioners interested in research on African issues and challenges. Being the third roundtable, the purpose will be to discuss past and upcoming planned activities, exchange new ideas, and register individuals interested in joining the Chapter as Associate Members, via the website: www.systemdynamics.org.za
