Abstract for: Using system dynamics with other modelling methods: client benefits and reactions

Since its inception, there have been many reported examples of system dynamics having a positive impact in organisations and with clients. At the same time there has been growing interest from the general modelling community to the use of multiple methods to tackle client problems. The literature in this area provides clear reasons and potential benefits for the use of multiple methods during a single modelling intervention. This presentation reports on 3 projects where system dynamics has been used in conjunction with other modelling methods. Some of the benefits gained from using system dynamics with other methods will be discussed along with clients’ reactions to the multi-method approach.
