Abstract for: Hybrid Modelling and Simulation in Anysim and Python

In this workshop, we will demonstrate how System Dynamics modelling, Agent-Based modelling, Discrete Event modelling, and other types of modelling can be combined in pure Python as well as in Anysim. [Python is an open source object-oriented programming language. Anysim is a Python-based hybrid simulation software with a friendly user interface but with full Python functionalities.] First, we will give an overview of the possibilities. Second, we will demonstrate the approaches on two cases. Third, we will guide workshop participants through a hands-on workshop example. We will provide the workshop participants with Jupyter Notebooks, models, code and program as to enable them to develop their own models and perform their own hybrid simulations.
