Abstract for: Masterclass: Agile modeling for fast, effective solutions

Senior 'clients' in business and other settings need to see real value from models, quickly - they have little time for lengthy workshops with large groups. This workshop picked real-world cases from the participants and demonstrated how this need can be met by following a simple and reliable process [1] set out the behaviour-over-time of the performance outcome of concern, both actual history and desired future [2] work back up the causal pathway to the stocks or 'resources' whose changes give rise to that outcome [3] add the flow-rates driving those stocks [4] trace each flow-rate back to the stocks, decisions and outside factors causing them to change.
