Abstract for: China Chapter Meeting

The second System Dynamics Academic Forum for postgraduates in China was successfully hosted by Shanghai University of Interactional Business and Economics on November 14-15, 2014, which offering an extensive and in-depth examination into the academics and application of system dynamics. Both this forum and last year’s do demonstrate the vitality of SD development in China, especially for the new comers. China Systems Engineering Society initiated a project "2014-2015 report on advances in System Science and Systems Engineering". As an important branch, System Dynamics Professional Committee has been involved in the project and is writing the report on System Dynamics development. The general election of the System Dynamics Professional Committee is going to be conducted in 2015. A research proposal using system dynamics to investigate the future 30-year development, "Shanghai 2050", has been funded by the Shanghai Government. It is a one year project to study different scenarios of Shanghai's social-economy-environment development. We are going to hold a SD national conference next year in Beijing with the estimated scale about 100 attendees. Vensim training courses will be organized regularly as usual in the year of 2015.
