Abstract for: Demineralised Water Production Planning

This paper addresses demineralised (demin) water production planning through the development of a planning tool to support the process of securing demin water supply. The paper will discuss the causal loop diagram (CLD), System architecture map (SAM) and Model Boundary Chart of the system. A management flight simulator is being developed using a system dynamics methodology and incorporates the demin water consumption and demin water production plant generating targets and then identifies the gap between them. The simulation that was created will assist in understanding the dynamics surrounding this complex system. Through that understanding, better decisions can be made to effectively compensate for maintenance and regeneration to secure the supply of demin water.
