Motion 133: Subject: Approve Conflict of Interest Guideline

Formal Motion: Move that the Policy Council approve the Conflict of Interest Guideline. The guideline was written to meet the new legal standards outlined in the New York Non Profit Revitalization Act of 2013. The Society will adhere to the laws, rules, and mandates of all state, federal, and local governing bodies. The Society will maintain a set of guidelines that are compliant with required regulations and consistent with the operation of the Society as a not for profit organization.
Notes on supporting material: The Conflict of Interest Guideline is "compliant with required regulations and consistent with the operation of the Society as a not for profit organization," as stated in Policy 16.

Motion 136: Subject: Increase Dana Meadows Award to $2000

Formal Motion: It is moved that the annual funding for the Dana Meadows Award be increased to $2000.
Notes on supporting material: DM Award is now $1500 yearly, paid by the DM Fund. DM Awards Comm determines how to use it. Awards Comm and VP Fin favor the increase. Over 2008-12, the fund grew ~$3800/yr after awards. Increase to $2K would be only 1.7% of the fund (at year end '14).

Formal Motion: It is moved that the name of the System Dynamics Society Lifetime Achievement Award is changed to the System Dynamics Lifetime Achievement Award.
Notes on supporting material: Both the Awards Comm and the J.W.F. Award Comm agree to the suggested change. The current name may indicate the award is for services to the SD Society rather for achievements in the field. For service we have the SD Society Outstanding Service Award.
